Quality Management is extremely important in business and political circles these days, but it is particularly relevant to professional associations including the European Relocation Association (EuRA). EuRA has always focused on the professionalism of its members and has supported process improvements over time throughout the industry. Recently EuRA decided to take quality management a stage further and implement a quality management standard specifically for Destination Service Providers.
In order to achieve this goal and to assist industry practitioners with the implementation of a quality management system, EuRA has teamed up with DQS to develop a certification standard for the relocation industry called the EuRA Quality Seal.
This work began in early 2006. The project included a forum of destination service providers from throughout Europe and has resulted in the creation of a straightforward standard which has some of the elements of ISO 9001 but is very much relocation industry and DSP oriented.
The organisational effort required to become EuRA Quality Seal certified can only be made by the member company itself but the cost and effort are minimal and the benefits are great.
Members and non-members who wish to become EuRA Quality Seal certified will prepare for an audit by implementing processes and best practices then there is a one day audit and upon successful completion, a EuRA Quality Seal certificate will be issued. Two options are available for the preparation of the audit, a training session (organized by EuRA) or a pre-audit (organized by DQS). Benefits of each have been outlined at the Members’ Day.
