| Integration process in full swing | | Top managers from India and Thailand visit the DQS headquarters in Frankfurt
| | | Dr. Murugan Kandasamy (Managing Director) and N. S. Venkatachalam (Chief Operating Officer) from India and Paitoon Isariyapruit, Managing Director of UL-DQS (Thailand) Limited, were the representatives of two major DQS-UL MSS offices in the Asian region that came to visit the group headquarters. |
| Even before the meeting with the German management team and representatives from the various operational areas, some first assessment projects for global customers had been initiated between UL MSS India Pvt. Ltd. and DQS in Frankfurt.
For Martina Meinefeld, Manager Marketing International Business Development, this is a perfect start for the merger of the two companies’ business cultures: “We already knew that DQS and UL MSS had much in common in respect of their values and attitudes. But to actually see the processing of our day-to-day business starting off so smoothly is particularly satisfying”. The visit mainly focused on the concentrated exchange with a number of DQS product managers, as well as meetings for coordinating processes and procedures.

| With the approval of the German Anti-Trust office at the end of April 2008, the merger of DQS with UL Management Systems Solutions, a former division of the US product certification body Underwriters Laboratories Inc., was finalized in the legal sense. Since then, the focus has been on harmonizing day-to-day business transactions. Personal meetings contribute significantly to promoting the mutual understanding of each other’s country, culture, and people – as well as to organizing very pragmatic things, such as the coordination of intercontinental audit plans. |
| For years now Asia has been growing into the gravitational center of the global economic development – and not only due to the economic boom in China. The economies of other countries in the Asian-Pacific region have been growing significantly for years, as well, something that is also reflected in the extremely high demand for management system certifications: according to the latest ISO survey, the rate of increase for ISO 9001 certifications was 66% in India, and 21% in Thailand - both well above the global average of about 16%. |
